Redlands Water Situation Will Be Top of GOP Women’s Agenda – Redlands Daily Facts
John Harris, Director of Municipal Utilities and Engineering for Redlands, will speak about the water situation in the city when the Redlands Republican Women’s Club meets from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 17 at the Redlands Country Club , 1749 Garden St.
The cost of lunch is $25 and lunch reservations are required by June 15 by calling Laurie Tremain at 909-792-2501 or emailing reservations@RedlandsRWF.org. Those attending the program only and not having lunch do not require reservations.
Harris, who earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Arizona, is a licensed professional engineer and has served as director of municipal utilities and engineering for Redlands since 2020, according to a news release.
It oversees the engineering and construction of capital improvement program projects, the collection and treatment of wastewater, and the treatment and distribution of potable, non-potable, and recycled water, and it administers rights and entitlements to city water.
Harris served as Director of Public Works and Engineering for the City of Big Bear Lake from 2017 to 2020 and Director of the Montrose, Colorado Department of Public Works from 2007 to 2017.
Prior to that, he worked for 20 years for the US Air Force’s F-16 test and development program, managing several major military and international programs in numerous countries, according to the press release.
