Pastor Cook invited Joe’s opponent, Rebecca Hindman, to join the show before and during the hour, but she did not make an appearance.

Joe has been an active community member and local business owner in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 20 years and has served on various committees and boards from elementary school through high school. Joe was not planning to run for re-election, however, he cites the other candidates and their positions on certain issues as reasons he is seeking another term.

“I wasn’t going to (run for re-election), my laser focus over my two terms was on career tech education, and we’ve made some big inroads in that area, but COVID 19 pretty much wiped it all out “Joe said. . “When people like Rebecca come in and start talking about what they want to do and it has absolutely nothing to do with real education, I have to take a break.”

Some of these issues include equality, diversity and inclusion, which Joe says he sympathizes with. However, he thinks the focus should be on real education, including reading, writing, arithmetic, and family values ​​and choices which he would ensure are at the center of the curriculum. studies in his district.
